With the Hiking & Trekking tour 5 Days, 4 Nights Mt Kenya hiking Safari
You will start in Nairobi and end in Chogoria. The Safari includes accommodation in a hotel as well as an expert guide, meals, transport and more.
We recommended Chogoria route because is the most magnificent ascent route to the summit area and the driest route up the mountain and the walk beside the Gorges Valley truly spectacular. The descent by the Sirimon route takes one through some beautiful forest tracks and completes the traverse of the mountain.
You will depart Nairobi in the morning at around 9:10am for Nanyuki where you’ll have your lunch from. Your afternoon will be spent in this area for acclimatization by walking along the equator line.

You will have an early breakfast then drive to Sirimon Park Gate. Check-in and start your hiking through the Rain Forest for 9 km (5/6 hours) to Old Moses camp (3300m).

You’ll have your breakfast at 7:00am then at 7:30 and continue your hike via Makinda Valley to Shimpton Camp (4200m). The distance takes 8 to 9 hrs 15km.

You’ll have hot tea very early morning depart to the summit, a walk that takes 3 hrs to point Lenana (4985m) . After sunrise, descend to Mintos Hut for full breakfast and later proceed down through the Gorges valley to Chogoria Bandas and campsite.

After breakfast, set on morning journey to Chogoria village(32km) if you don't want you can take a jeep you pay direct or you cost share in a group. Then after Chogoria the transport is provided back to Nairobi, arriving late afternoon.
